Carhartt uses a variety of technologies on their clothing, shoes and accessories to improve things like breathability, flexibility and dryability. Rain Defender™

Rain Defender™ is a durable water repellent coating technology which give a finish that let water slide off the surface of garment. This means that Rain Defender™ products are built to stand up to light rain, on the job and after.

Storm Defender™

Storm Defender™ is a waterproof breathable protection for outerwear that stops every raindrop but let's body heat escape. The material is lightweight and rugged, with waterproof, breathable membranes and waterproof seams.

Wind Fighter™

Wind Fighter™ is a technology that prevents wind from blasting trough the fabric and reaching your skin. The wind can whistle but you won’t care, this technology tames the wind.

FastDry®

Fast Dry® wicks away sweat and moisture from the fabric to help promote faster drying. Outfitted with sweat-wicking FastDry® technology, Carhartt products with Force helps you stay dry on even the hottest day.

Force®

The Force® technology wicks away moisture form the body to the outside if the garment. It’s a collection of hardworking attributes including sweat-wicking Fast Dry® technology, odor-fighting capability and Stain Breaker® stain release technology.

Rugged Flex®

Rugged Flex® gear meets Carhartt’s defined standards for stretch and recovery to give you extra range of motion. Rugged Flex® looks traditional, feels exceptional by delivering stretch for freedom of movement and toughness without bulk.

Firm Duck

Firm duck is the strongest cotton duck and the most durable canvas out there. Built with added toughness, firm duck is water repellent, wind resistant and rugged. If you like to break in your jacket and pants, firm duck is for you.

Duck

Duck is stiff, ring-spun cotton. If you like your Carhartt solid, classic and durable as the day is long, this is the duck for you. Duck and Firm Duck is technically a kind of canvas, and clothing made from this type of material is windproof and tough.

Washed Duck

If you like Sandstone Duck, you will like the Washed Duck. This fabric feels exactly like it sounds. Carhartt has taken its durable Classic Duck and washed it for a broken-in look and feel. It breaks in faster that Duck and looks newer, longer. Washed duck fabric is similar to Carhartt's now retired sandstone fabric, but employs new production techniques to create a similar look and feel as its predecessor.

Sandstone Duck

Sandstone duck is sanded and brushed for softness and comfort. The more you wear it, the more it breaks in – it’s comfortable the first day you put it on and more comfortable and worn-in on the 50th.

Quick Duck®

Quick Duck® is durable and lighter than traditional Sandstone Duck. It’s built with a durable water repellent, so water beads up and rolls off, and it does not require breaking in like Sandstone – So your gear will always look fresh.

Rugged Flex® Duck

Rugged Flex® Duck gives you the classic Carhartt look, with just the perfect amount of stretch. Made by combining the famous cotton Duck with Rugged Flex® durable stretch technology, the result is increased ease of movement everywhere it’s needed, and the most comfortable heavyweight gear.

Cordura®

Cordura® is a synthetic (or sometimes a synthetic and cotton-based blend) fabric that is durable and strong. Cordura® fabrics keep you at work, protecting you from the wear-and-tear hazards of life on a job site, and Carhartt’s gear equipped with Cordura synthetic fabric is built to last.
